Venturi (air-entrainment) mask
A
medical device to deliver inspired air mixed with a known oxygen concentration
to patients on controlled oxygen therapy. Typical oxygen concentration is 24-50%.
Venturi masks are considered high-flow oxygen therapy devices. This is because
they are able to provide total inspiratory flow at a specified
FiO2 to patients. The
kits usually include multiple jets, in order to set the desired FiO
2,
which are usually colour coded.
